I made a collage using different layers of fabric netting and paper on cork. By building up layers of shadow and light I sought to give an abstract 3 dimensional drawing more depth and solidity. By being able to see through layers of the fabric to paper or the background cork the composition still remains slightly unreal and ethereal.

With collage, the act of cutting through a sheet of material reveals a window into another layer below. My work tries to create a sense of surface pattern, letting the eye roam over the picture plane, as well as creating a sense of depth and of space receding behind the surface.
