For this work, which is a triptych, I used a very particular technique that makes the painting very close to a photograph, it is a strange and very fast way to proceed after a long and slow basic preparation. I always use very thick brushes and three base colours which are black, sienna and white. My references are mainly literary or cinematographic: Tarkovskij, Pasternak, Pessoa, Herzog… Tarkovskij's work has accompanied me since the end of the 70s when I saw the preview screening of his film Stalker. I start from the idea of ​​the desert, as a place of the soul, where you are alone with yourself and you can open your mind to life. It is a continuous journey, where the beauty lies in the path and not in the destination.
