Shortly after I met my wife her grandmother Maria José died.
Maria José lived in the village of Vila Nova de Muia specifically in Lugar da Tomada in northern Portugal.
A year after her dead my wife Graça went to visit the house where her grandmother spent most of her life. It was the first time someone entered in the house after the event and I was with her. During this short period of time I was able to make a small series of photographs.
Since then I have returned to this place regularly in order to document this process of transformation in which the house more empty than before remains in time in Lugar da Tomada.
