I made "Ocean Light" because you can't always have your toes in the sand, but you can daydream into this painting. I wanted to capture those wonderful tropical blue-greens of the shores of Hawaii or the light colored sands of Yucatan. Working with heat based tools, I manipulated resin to intermingle, push and pull for an end result that looks like webbing waves crashing and retracting over pearly sands. You can almost see movement in the waves they are so vibrant. There is just a touch of metallic to the sand, so your eyes will catch a glint here and there as light hits it differently. That is why I love working with resin! It is immersive.
