Sacos do Ser #2 is part of the research initiated in 2008 around the concept of the body, the frontier, and in this relation, I here evoke the notion of emptying. A body-territory form that ceases to be in order to assume itself as a body-map, as if it ceases to be what it is to assume a direction, formal aesthetic research to which top view, aerial view are associated. Perhaps because at that time I was working in parallel with carrier pigeons on another academic research project.
I formally started from an animal referent, a cod to create, through powdered glass of various colors, a kind of territory seen from the top. I was inspired by the images from google maps. It was important to me that this work was delicate, elegant, so I took on the technical challenge of making it as fine as possible using the pâté de verre technique, returning here to the idea of skin, boundary, thin membrane.
