In her series "Fairytales" Louise Nevander invites the viewer into a world of long gone fairytales and half-forgotten dreams, taking place somewhere between sleep and awake. Starting from the premise that the Nordic fairytales originated as tales for adults, and that they are dark stories telling us of life, birth and death, but also of the limbo that exists there in between, she sets out to explore the human condition – the ambiguity of our relation to nature, as it is both a nurturing caregiver and a fundamental threat to our existence.
