(part of the exhibition Memory Palace) In the main entrance hall of the Museum of Natural History and Science in Lisbon, we come across a plot of corridors and diagonals that we traverse, a dense forest that we traverse and inspect. Arranged in the bamboo sticks are given loose phrases of the Treaty of Friendship of Ricci. Accessing the first floor of the lobby, we observe from above that the labyrinth hides a logographic plan. It is the character 利, Mandarin name adopted by Ricci, and which is a symbolic reading means A peasant with a sickle in his hand, ready to catch the harvest he planted.
