An avid traveller, I am always interested in the people and the culture wherever I go. Blues and purples dominate this painting of a young Asian girl, tenderly and protectively holding her younger sibling on her hip. The brushstrokes are impressionistic, capturing movement. I was inspired to make this painting after a wonderful trip to Thailand where I took this photo. There are subtle images of elephants in the background.
