Studying the nature of sharks, I became fascinated with the similarities between sharks and humans, portrayed through their common struggle for survival and predatory instinct. Although known as predators, sharks are a human pray now. They are beautiful, yet dangerous creatures due to their instinct-based actions. We, on the other hand, use both, mind and instinct, and that makes us even more dangerous for the world around. The amount of fear in our imagination that we have at the very mention of shark’s name is in contradiction with the damage that we are causing to them every day.
My work is not just an illustration of nature with a variety of its creations. While I am continuing to admire its powers through my art, I also explore the possibilities in which nature and built environment will coexist.
