André is an architect who lives and works in Braga, Portugal, developing works in the field of photography. These are not, however, different practices and in his work, a common territory arises where photography manifests itself as an instrument of analysis and criticism of architecture and the contemporary city. Starts in an academic experience with Guido Guidi (IUAV, Venice), renowned Italian photographer, and with Cidália Silva (EAUM, Guimarães), architect, merging knowledge related to the formation of photographic expression with the exploration of the common and banal landscape. The photographic series that develops focus mainly on anonymous and rudimentary forms of construction, having a special interest by states of transition and abandonment and by the value of its entropy. He works with analogue photography and explores a language that meets the documentary style. Has exhibited at Encontros da Imagem and at Museum Nogueira da Silva, among others.
