Maybe the selection and collection of natural elements is fundamentally an aesthetic impulse. A first artistic gesture that evokes ecological issues, pointing our place in the world as living beings, biologically conditioned; Epistemological, evoking the file, the document and the creation of memory; and Esthetic, to the extent that any selection requires judgment and perception of what is considered beautiful.
