The mountain in this drawing is called Montserrat and it is located in Catalonia. It is considered a special place for its fascinating form and spiritual significance.
I’ve used pencil and goldpoint on marble here. Using metal for drawing is a medieval technique. I discovered goldpoint in 2009 trying to draw with my ring. The works that have been done using goldpoint look like pencil drawings, but have a shimmer of gold in them, which appears and disappears depending on the light. You can see this effect in one of the images. I chose marble of Thassos as a material for its purity, nobility and whiteness.
