This is a still nature that I worked in 2016 to practice the technique of the old masters.
Even though it sounds simple, the process of creating this work of art was really challenging and engaging.
My main focus was on the two complementary colors (red and green). What I tried to achieve by painting this original work of art was to achieve the dexterity in painting the textures and the visual effects of the clothes.
The typical green of the 16th and 17th centuries (Lower Countries) was used at the bottom to create a classic space. The red cloth on the left was made in watercolor and oil; is probably the most valuable 3D object in the painting, as well as the violin that keeps the viewer in the "trompe l'oile" area.
To calm the contrast between green and red, I added the blue-electric cloth to the front plane, which seems to cover something; this contrasts still with the dark blue cloth on the left and increases the three-dimensionality of all the still nature.
