After getting a gorgeous gander at the Alaskan shoreline from the plane, I was inspired to make an abstract resin pour painting with that color scheme. Cold blue-grey waves wash up against coarse black sands with foaming tips and speckles of seafoam silver droplets. There is tons of movement in this piece that works with the muted color scheme to be truly eye-catching. I use a variety of techniques to color and manipulate the resin within the short window before it cures, about an hour. Using a blow torch, other heat-based devices, inks, and pigments (same as used in surfboard making) I coordinate the piece working fast and expertly, relying on my hundreds of hours of making these paintings and the natural flow of the medium.
