Helena de Medeiros combines her activity as an artist and her work as a set designer and prop boy in various contexts of the performing arts. Maybe that's why she employs attitude and movement in two-dimensional work. Or maybe, simply, because painting is an exercise. Adept of the neo-expressionist languages, her works focus on a multitude of techniques, the colours ochre, like Earth and, necessarily, repeated gestures she sees on stage every day.
