That Missing thing, Art Week Rotterdam, Root
Rotterdam
2016
During the Art Rotterdam Week of 2016 Assembled by Root will be presenting a very special pop-up exhibition in collaboration with the Niffo gallery. Continuing its dedication to showcase and aid the growth of young talent, ROOT will be exhibiting the works of six up and coming artists, who focus their works around the theme That Missing Thing.
Through working together with local organizations such as Niffo, and by bridging the gaps between artists at the start of their careers and visitors with an interest towards contemporary art, Root is determined to further an inclusionary system which promises a mutually beneficial and truly meaningful experience for all involved.
Transmogrify, Root
Rotterdam
2016
The way we see the world around us and the experiences we have. The relation between these components is what forms the artistic research of Mark Vrinzen and Maria Kokkonen. These relations can be thoroughly calculated, based on ancient equations when considering beauty, or may be a figment of a person suffering from dementia who can only relate to yesterday. These things make the truth fragile; the experiences you have can change your truth. Your experiences can change the way you see the world forever.
