This series of paintings is about the swimmers of the 50's that invoke the holiday season, a summer relax vibe. It's a pleasant atmosphere that remind us of 'spending a good time'. The patterns that I use are Portuguese tiles because the swimming pool's environment sometimes have tiles in their structure.
This work has many steps. First I use digital image's programme to create the composition and work with the vintage images. Then I use a collage process to engage with the pictorical elements.
