"Jungle" is a playful mixed media encaustic painting focusing on colour and its ability to change. Its imagery and forms are inspired by warm nights and the breeze in the Mediterranean, South of Spain. I built up the surfaces with a mix of encaustic paint, oil and stencil patterns I build up the surfaces. Scraping and cutting away the layers with an etching tool and razor blade unveiling transparencies and a fusion of colour. Cutting away the surface and revealing the history of layers that have come before.
