We now live in a voyeuristic condition in which it is inherent to observe the profile of the other and, at the same time, to be observed. It is from this practice that “A vida dos outros II” (The life of others II) appears, from observation. Not from a perspective of curiosity regarding to what happens in the private bosom of someone's house, but what these practices construct visually in the exterior, accessible to all.
What gains importance is the light composition that the lady waiting for the elevator, or the mother who goes to bed her child causes in the overall image of the building. What interests the artist is the small or large yellow rectangles that are created whenever someone is awake. All these small scale paintings are based on a long and exhaustive photographic record, at different times, and on different days, of the same Italian building in Bologna.
