Photography of the series 'The city'.
I walk the streets of New York and photograph strangers. These photographs are relics of a momentary merging of photographer and environment, subject and object. This is a series of street portraits: nothing can be more alien to my understanding of photography as an aesthetic and ethics practice, than the idea of interrupting the flow of life and actually asking people to pose. These images are both portraits of people as of moments.
