My work is about memories and dialogues with various fabrics, laces, colors, lines and textures that circulated in my mother's sewing table. The fabric is an element that gives form to memories that are part of my private universe. The influence of the elements of Minho costumes, flowers, colors, embroidered dresses that Undulated like waves, the hemlines of women from the village who boldly carried bottles of water and chanted echoes and singing, are elements that I bring to my work.
In the works Return to the Essence IV, I tried to transmit the recovery of values and tradition, and the intimate approach to physical production, bringing notes of craftsmanship as the act of baking the canvas in linen and raw fabric, with the force of gestuality the brushstroke, the texture, and the feeling of connection with the materials.
