This acrylic painting is alive with color and emotion. On a trip to Greece, we stayed in Rhodes during the celebration of Greek Orthodox Easter. The bakers were very busy as the local villagers hurried to get all the special cakes for the holiday. I took a photo of this baker and used it as inspiration for my painting. The hot colors suggest the heat of the oven as well as the warmth of the people. The brush strokes are wide and impressionist, capturing movement and feeling.
