From the fusion between a kind of personal invocation and a professional route which assembled, on the same table, photographic registers, real and fabricated images, written documents, memories, ideas, and objects from diverse cultures and territories, Ana Bonifácio’s work is still a multidirectional bursting out. Her work doesn’t have strict domains or borderlines. Photography, painting, architecture, urban development, territories, and appropriation, are some of them.
Ana Bonifácio born in Leiria (1975) and grew up in Marinha Grande. Now lives and works in Lisbon.
Participates very irregularly in exhibitions since 1991. After several trials and essays, some hidden work, and another 19 years of professional activity, there comes the day when one wants to materialize the latent (almost blinded) idea of creating and putting everything together.
