Manuela Mendes da Silva was born in Porto, where actually lives and works. Coming from a family of artists, Manuela graduated in Painting by the School of Arts of the University of Porto (actually known by Faculty of Fine Arts). She remained attached to academic life as a teacher on the same University, between 1966 and 2009. As a plastic artist, Manuela exhibited in various cities, like Paris, Brussels, Dubai, Chicago and Johannesburg.
