His drawings made with incising the metal sheets with graphic needles, by which he is most recognized, are a result of decades of experimenting with materials and techniques worthy of that simple line motif. With graphic needle he incises dense short lines to create vibrating fields activated by moving the viewpoint. That illusion of whirly, vibrant visual phenomena differs from his works on canvases, but not in his conceptual approach or in his preoccupation with surface properties. The so-called painting-reliefs are made by pouring plaster on a surface which is then fixed on a canvas. The final result of raw surface, the negative of surface impressed, are presented as artistically interesting but also hold the idea of deliberate passive acceptance and layered conceptual work process.
