For this exhibition, Sara Maia drew inspiration from the book of short stories by Luísa Costa Gomes (Portugal, 1954), “Visitar Amigos e Outros Contos” (Visiting Friends and Other Stories, 2024), favouring references to paternalism, misogyny, and barriers to women's emancipation, exploring the limits of the sarcastic, the erotic, and the grotesque.
