In “Self-Portrait of Nowhere”, Miguel Rio Branco (BR, 1946) presents works from different periods that highlight his process of deconstructing the image and the narrative of his language through images marked by the dramatic use of colour and light. “The chiaroscuro of the images, the expressiveness of the characters and the construction of the image made up of layers of information, give Miguel Rio Branco's work a Baroque character, reminiscent, perhaps, of colonial imagery which, however, he questions with his dramatic vision of time and space that the camera fixes”.
