Prémio ARTE EM ESPAÇO PÚBLICO & SUSTENTABILIDADE - 1ª edição

The ART IN PUBLIC SPACE & SUSTAINABILITY Award is a project promoted by the dst group and zet gallery with the support of IB-S - Institute of Science and Innovation for Bio-Sustainability of the University of Minho. This was a project that challenged artists to create artworks for the public space of the city of Braga, by using industrial waste. This was another initiative to support the creation and contemporary artistic production in the field of visual arts, combined with the concepts of sustainability and circular economy. In total, 25 applications were received, national and international. Among the international ones are artists with nationalities and/or places of residence that go from Brazil to Chile, passing through the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, and Spain. Lorenzo Bordonaro was the winner of this award, with the public space art proposal named "REFÚGIO" (Haven), a habitable sculpture that can be visited in the Guadalupe Park, in Braga.
