The “Queer weapons for fighting the dystopia” were created as accessories for an imaginary performance by artist Dusty Whistle, a nomad North American friend living in Lisbon, whose art can be related to that of Leigh Bowery. The queer community to which Dusty and I belong is one of the many minorities that struggle daily to resist the real state speculation and to keep existing in spite of the eviction caused by gentrification. His performances and outfit design are part of a poetic and political fight to belong to a city in constant transformation of the public into private, a perverse phenomenon of capitalization of being in space. The pieces, which can be handled both as body and wall sculptures, were inspired by the constructivism of Vladimir Tatlin and the brutalist jewelry of Maison Margiela. Quadriptic to be sold together: 2000 €
