Interested in the aesthetics of chaos, Alexandre Rola sweeps the urban areas in search of material. There could be old advertising signs, abandoned children of the consumer society, or organic materials such as soil. Thus, there is a learning process with the material and a concern with the story represented wastage material. Along this process the artist offers an accomplice but simultaneously critical vision of contemporary society, reducing the gap between art and life.
The artist intervenes on the surface in a palimpsest way, in a seduction game with the chance. A chaotic background emerges, where new images, textures and inconsistencies are formed, whose outcome is unpredictable, just as life is.
For the artist, the act of painting is catharsis and a social affirmation. A kind of extension of human enlargement in a emancipatory and a plural sense, embodied in solidarity.
