Vivaldo Franco was born in Brazil in 1960. He currently lives in Portugal. He is an actor, director and visual artist. He has a bachelor’s degree in Performing Arts from the University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He has post-graduate studies in Art Theory at the State University of Rio de Janeiro and Teaching in Higher Education at the Cândido Mendes University. He started his artistic career in 1978 and his work is developed in the areas of Theatre, Photography, Video, Literature and cultural production. As a director, he has participated in several international festivals. His theatre texts have received several prizes and nominations. As a video maker, he maintains a fruitful partnership with the also visual artist Marcellus Machado.
