Located in the difficult territory of the so-called expanded painting, the work of João Vasco Castro assumes contours of conceptual ordeal, while at the same time recovering themes such as intervention through painting in matter collected and resulting from the waste of human action. His painting, properly speaking, is gestural and textured and the color shows the essence of the compositions, which become complex in the play of light and shadow that create with the space and the exhibition stands.
