“I don't know if it was the painting that discovered Miguel Ruben de Mendel or if it was the artist, the author, who discovered himself and has been discovering in it. The fact is that we are dealing with a self-taught person of rare virtuosity and sagacious spirituality. The first thing that seduces us is the palette: full of light, vibrant colours, which are wrapped in gold that is smudge and contour. With an expressive path, clearly of a surreal tendency, there is in his compositions an imaginary that goes between the theme of the sacred and the subconscious, but attentive, observation of everyday life. The artist tells us stories and describes visions, souls of restlessness and calm, sometimes simultaneously. But it is the plural interpretations that challenge us, as Nietzsche (1844-1900) said, derivations of the meanings that each creates from his lexical field, in this case, visual and imagery. "
