Design based on private photo albums of Portuguese families. This refers to the collective memories of childhood, youth, and longing. There is a balance between the definition/blurring of shapes paralleling the definition/blurring of memory. The people who inhabit the drawings are anonymous but somehow relate to our own memories, those of our parents or grandparents.
There is also an interest in balancing figuration and abstraction, managed by the use of materials such as ink, acrylic, charcoal on paper.
