Face made in acrylic and watercolor, following the structure of a painting by Paul Klee: rectangles for the shoulders and neck, and a large square for the head. Both African art and the work of painters such as Modigliani or Cézanne are simplifications, with more or less geometric base, on the lines of the human body. In my painting the sketch in graphite is not necessary; the painting was build on it’s own, step by step. And when the visual composition is finished, I feel it. From that moment it is a matter of giving the final details.
