The work is part of a series of works that arise from the observation of the landscape that the author sees from her window, where she paints daily. And where, at the end of each day, she has the opportunity to appreciate the palette of colours that forms in the sky when the sun begins to set over the hills.
The work consists of 141 folds, in unbleached cloth, sewn 0.5 cm wide and in a zig-zag pattern.
These lines are methodically sewn, in a rhythmic, repetitive process, in an almost mechanised act, where each pleat constructed is a time, a thought, a memory.
The process of executing the oil painting is also conditioned by the support, since the relief and texture of the folds condition the gesturality of the painting. Something that ends up becoming a challenge to explore the support and the expressiveness of the brushstroke.
The artwork dimensions/weight exceed the limits defined by our carriers.
