Paula is a Painter, Printmaker and Installation artist who graduated from Otis Art Institute of Parsons School of Design. She majored in Fine Arts with a focus on Painting and Installation Art. During her career she has exhibited her works in America, England, Holland, Spain and Italy.
Paula´s art offers itself to the viewer as extremely evocative and suggestive layered painting emphasising the tactile surface and transformative colors. Through constructing and deconstructing the picture plane, the artist deletes fragments from the pictorial plane giving rise to a lively surface. She looks for a dialogue between opposites, the complimentary analysing a material and how it creates a void. Perforated surfaces that become impressions, footprints and traces. She begins with deconstructing the image and finding the harmonious language that connect the ideas of drawing, printing and painting.
