Thinking about the intimate self-portrait, we try to understand the perception of the body as an object capable of thinking about the world and what surrounds it, focusing on the discovery of points of the body that are not subject to careful observation.
The work is guided through a revealing “naturalist” aesthetic, capable of providing self-knowledge. The artwork “Sexta. Partes do Corpo que não são visíveis" is the result of performative acts - of observing, thinking and painting. Times of the “here and now” are fixed based on the suspended beauty in the rawness of the painting. The artwork shows itself: you can see the linen, the raw oil stains and the dark background that illuminates the painted body.
