From our point of view, Beethoven’s Second Symphony is anchored in the classical structure and tradition, but for his contemporaries it displayed something transformative and shockingly innovative, making it the ultimate symphony of Classicism. It is the awakening of something denser, richer in content, that forces new paths to be created. Most likely, the enjoyment of the contact with nature, which he liked so much, influenced the colourful composition, appearing for the first time in a Sinfónica work, a Scherzo, a "joke", in absolute contrast to the dramatic period of his life. But, Beethoven, it is the demonstration of the awakening of an inner force, capable of transformation into something greater, Music.
