Mariana Bastos lives in Bombarral, was born in 1987 in the municipality of Caldas da Rainha, Portugal. In 2010 she completed a degree in food engineering. At the beginning of 2016 she started her artistic activity using collage techniques to compose her illustrations, since then she considers herself a self-taught artist.
Her main influences are Helena Almeida, Hannah Höch, Wassily Kandinsky, Shaun Tan, JR, Marcel Duchamp among others. Her works intend to reflect on the duality of the human being and the ever-present loneliness.
