Miguel Rio Branco (BR, 1946) is one of the most important names in the visual arts scene in Brazil, and his work is recognised globally. His production is based on the possibilities of photography and, throughout his career, evolves from a process of deconstructing what is a more conventional vision of the image, to a fleeting register that is a form of tension, reaching an autobiographical dimension.
The juxtaposition and chaos unfold like a quasi-biography, with the author embarking on a process of deconstructing the image and the narrative, which emphasises the layers and gives us different reading planes like those we have in the great Baroque architecture.
