Raquel Felgueiras' work - drawing, painting and animated film - reflects on unconscious fears and the impossibility of true freedom of expression, combining personal experience with social limits. The combination of traditional techniques and new media is an important feature of her practice, with drawing being the central technique that unites all my work. Inspired by scientific drawing and baroque aesthetics, her artworks are a combination of precise lines and expressive stains. This ambiguity between what we can and cannot control is the paradigm under which all her work is created. Baroque Gargoyles is her latest work of art inspired by the Rorschach tests, mixing baroque elements with a touch of medieval cloister.
