It is a personal and nostalgic motive, a childhood memory found in my family album. I was interested in creating a general dynamism in the static memory, using the brushstrokes to blur the boundaries between the background and the figures. The act of painting the photographed memory is for me a way to give the past a new presence, or to create a new living memory. I tried to transmit the general sensations and gestures of the photographed moment, rather than to focus on specific features of the persons or the view.
