Cumulus nº. 4 was sculpted in white sandstone and burnt at 1000ºC. This work is part of the Cumulus series, the guiding point whose production is anchored in the detailed study of clouds from constant observations of the sky and which resulted not only in sculptures but also in drawings and photographs that also make up the series.
As part of the creative process, the artist transports to his hands the slow and peaceful movements of the winds, which give life and keep these organic forms in constant mutation. His clouds are notable for the presence of three-dimensionality, they are charged with fluidity and are in motion, either by the exposed angle or by the light that fills it.
Within the concept of the work, we are of the same nature and we are in a constant process of transformation and accumulation. We accumulate dreams, frustrations and we have this inner need to be at peace, the calming effect of the reunion with the natural, with the supernatural, to unload the weight, to start new cycles.
The artwork dimensions/weight exceed the limits defined by our carriers.
