Expressionist face. I used numerous small objects and, above all, nails and screws, glued on the canvas. This artwork is a large one and it becomes difficult to decipher, visually, where the painted face is. When we can understand / find it, the work becomes a fascinating painting, of enormous symbolic, magical value.
I like to use pure acrylic pigment in maximum contrast. This work has texture, color and a strong but mysterious face.
The expressionism of Dubuffet, Kirschner and Kokoshka are always present in my painting. It is always an excellent choice to convey the power of human presence with few traits - just like in African art.
