In the work of this artist is present some romanticism and some influence of contemplative painting of Caspar David Friedrich, as the use of landscape as background. Similarly, the influence of Hooper leis in the urban landscapes, deserted melancholy and illuminated by a strange light.
His career had an early association by fantastic tales, ironic fables, hard and burlesque, loaded with despicable characters, but not worthy of contempt. The narrative continues, but now stripped, relying on memories and daily experiences.
Gabriel Garcia (Azores, 1977) attended the Arts Academy of Ponta Delgada, between 1994 and 1995, and graduated in painting from the School of Fine Arts in Lisbon. The artist's research is based, above all, in the painting process, observing it as a continuous process.
