The artist presents a body of work consisting of seven artworks [“The Party Man” (2009), “Untitled (... by art)” (2021), “Blurred Images” (2024), “Landscapes” (2024), “When you left me” (2016), “Can you feel me when I think about you?” (2020-2025) and “Broken Covenant” (2012-2024)], mostly of an instalative nature, never before seen or rarely seen, in which a chance encounter with Friedrich Nietzsche (Germany, 1844-1900) is suggested.
Alexandre Baptista is a multidisciplinary artist and, throughout his work, the presence of text is a constant. Curiously, the works “The Party Man” and “Untitled (... by art)” include quotes from the philosopher. From drawing to painting, video, photography, sculpture-installation, using sound, text and ready-made, his artistic practice reveals itself as an exercise in the political-poetic adventure of Art, in which he transforms the possibilities of thought into the potentialities of action.
