Gil Maia's work is based on a static image developed from a combination of imaginary narratives along with contemporary reinterpretations of reality. The [DE]CONSTRUCTIONS series consists on emphasising the idea that construction and deconstruction are part of the same compositional action. The work is inherently plastic highlighting its complementarity in the creative act. There are no specific themes other than that of disassembly of various scenarios. The graphic space is a compilation of illusions.
