The design was inspired by traces of industrial archeology in the industrial park of Barreiro, former headquarters of CUF (Companhia União Fabril), one of the most important chemical-industrial complexes in Europe in the mid-20th century. The Industrial and Financial History of the 20th century in Portugal was strongly marked by CUF, Companhia União Fabril. From the early years, with the tough and charismatic direction of Alfredo da Silva, going through the new expansion cycle led by the Mello family and, ending, in the dispersion of the Group after its nationalization in 1975. Drawing is part of artistic research developed between 2018 and 2019, on the relationship between drawing and architecture.
