In the last exhibitions, Filipa Figueiredo has portrayed imagined landscapes, alluding to the sound of places far from the cities, which can approach an almost silence. The incessant search for places where one can, for moments, "stagnate time", in contradiction to the noise and plot of city life. The sensation of silence and an almost contemplation is transmitted to us by the static composition of the painting and by the bucolic scenarios. The materials used are natural pigments (made by the artist and brought from different countries), ink from China, some Riscadores and anilines on paper.
The search for these scenarios and surroundings arise from a work that has been developing in recent years, which address issues that relate to the Human Being and its increasing distance from Nature, the brutal reduction of space this at the expense of asphalt and concrete and the urgency of a Reconsciousness that we need to be full.
